KOALA by Iguako
A contemporary stone and timber campus nestled in a misty, moss-covered forest.

The soft front door to Iguako

A little quieter.
A lot less ordinary.

Koala is where the Iguako Institute explains itself—gently, clearly, and without pretending the future has already been decided.

Our nothing

Iguako International / Institute

Our mission is nothing.

Not the empty kind. The useful kind.

Iguako Int. is a registered numbered company with no compulsory mythology and no interest in inheriting yesterday’s answers. “Nothing” gives us room to question the shape of a problem before someone sells us the shape of a solution.

We build to destroy paradigms: digital places, tools, stories, and experiments that make familiar systems feel strange enough to see again. Then we leave the pieces better than we found them.

Headquarters for all things Iguako.

Destruction, around here, means opening a window—not burning down the house.

02

What we do

Serious work.
Loose grip.

Our services live between studio, institute, lab, and archive. Bring us a rigid assumption. We’ll help it become more interesting.

A

Applied unreality

Interactive worlds, spatial stories, installations, and digital places that let people experience an idea instead of sitting through an explanation.

Narrative systems · Web spaces · Experiences

B

Creative technology

Thoughtful prototypes and experimental software for organizations that need to discover what a new tool should feel like before committing to what it must become.

Prototypes · Interfaces · Digital R&D

C

Paradigm demolition

Research, speculative design, and workshops that expose stale defaults, reframe difficult questions, and return a more useful field of possibilities.

Research · Strategy · Workshops

D

Institutional fiction

Brands, archives, systems, and cultural artifacts that borrow the language of institutions to examine power, trust, memory, and the stories organizations tell.

Identity · Worldbuilding · Archives

E

Publishing & collections

Digital and physical editions that give research a life beyond the meeting: essays, field notes, experimental records, and carefully made collections.

Editorial · Editions · Exhibitions

An institute should feel good to enter

“Come in. The old answer can wait outside.”

The building is imaginary. The invitation isn’t.

03

How we behave

Three gentle refusals

We take the work seriously.
Not ourselves.

  1. 01

    No borrowed certainty.

If we don’t know, we say so. Uncertainty is material—not an embarrassment to paint over.

  2. 02

    No innovation theatre.

A strange idea should earn its strangeness. New is useful only when it changes what people can notice, make, or do.

  3. 03

    No hostile futures.

Technology should make room for people, quiet, recovery, and the living world. Otherwise, it is simply noise with funding.

The Iguako constellation

There are a few doors.
Choose the one that hums.

Every public Iguako place we could verify, collected here without making you hunt for it.

A warmly lit woodland research pavilion with a living roof after rain.

For the paradigm currently bothering you

Let’s make
some nothing.

Visit the Institute, get pleasantly lost, and come back when the old map stops working.
